had a dream last night, my mom was performing. it felt like i could reach out and touch her, but she didn’t feel my presence, she didn’t even catch my eye.

living with grief. it ebbs and flows, and while i revel in the memories — smile and laugh through tears, wish she were here…the presence of grief can also be a reminder of all my unexpressed love.

▵▿It all started in 2017 when I started seeing the numbers 11 + 22 together all the time. I was seeing it on clocks (sure), but licence plates, transit transfers, restaurant receipts, birthdays of people that I was coming into contact with, etc; "fuuuuck, ok ok Universe, I'm paying attention!"

So whenever I’m faced with a sign, I head to numerology, astrology, Tarot and whatever else will help me make sense of the message coming through.

I started with numerology, cause numbers lol. 11 is my Life Lesson Number in numerology — you find your Life Lesson Number when you add all of the numbers in your birthdate together ie. month + day + year = Life Lesson Number.

I keep saying that The Fool was 5 years in the making, when the reality is it’s been in the making since probably before I took my first breath — like RedBlack&Blue before and whatever is to come after.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The fact that I’ve had all the eggs that I’ll ever need to make a fully formed human in me since I was a baby in my mothers womb — is what I’m saying. I’ve been carrying The Fool as a seed inside of me for a while now. We are living, breathing, walking infinite potential and all we need is the opportunity to breathe breath and life into whatever it is we choose. Like that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I put the time into 5 years and think of all the falling and getting up and belief and doubt, inspiration and the things that carried me through to here — I think of the songs. The songs that have weaved in and out of my being, shifting, changing and holding me together.

Whenever I’m about to start a record, I make a playlist of what’s inspiring me at the moment. The playlist that I created, started just like that, but it evolved over time — shit, all the way up to early this year when I decided to go in, pull it apart and put it back together.
